Red or Green: A blustery sprint through western New Mexico

Never enough time.

I used to live in Socorro, New Mexico, about a decade ago, and it's in a region well worth spending more than a few minutes exploring. But, alas, a packed schedule of freelance appointments (and my flight out of ABQ) demanded I keep my tiny rented Yaris' gas pedal to the floor all the way through Catron County on my one-day loop from Albuquerque through Socorro, Datil, Quemado, Grants and back to the Albuquerque airport on April 3, forcing me to forsake any opportunity to enjoy the green chile or say hello to people to whom I owe more than a few hellos. I'll be back. I promise.
